Church Bell Ringers

2010's annual bell ringers' outing saw us head for Wells Cathedral via smaller churches en route and to Glastonbury before heading home. We stopped at England's prettiest village, Lacock, for breakfast and rang in its lovely old church. Then on to the bells of Doulting prior to arriving in Wells for lunch. At Wells we rang in support of an afternoon children's service before taking to the coach again for Glastonbury.

Our outings generally comprise up to a dozen active ringers, with another 25 non-ringers who help fill a coach and who enjoy the day out. Setting out at 7:30am with a return time of 9pm does make for a long day. However, the good company and the comfortable coach ensure that there is ample time for chatting or snoozing during the trip.

In previous years we've visited almost every part of England that is do-able in a single day. These two had a good old natter during an outing to the Cotswolds a couple of years ago.
